About Matt
I build technology and data systems for education non-profits — scholarship platforms, program operations, dashboards and reports, and AI analysis that replaces hundreds of hours of manual work. My clients are schools, foundations, and education organizations that need someone who understands both the mission and the engineering.
I spent ten years at Noble Schools in Chicago, including three as President, leading the finance, operations, data, development, and people teams across 18 campuses. Before that I was Noble's founding Chief College Officer for seven years, building a nationally recognized, data-driven approach to college access and alumni persistence.
Before Noble: Director of College Completion at the KIPP Foundation, management consultant at McKinsey & Company, and an aerospace and systems engineer at Lockheed Martin. I also created and taught a graduate course on education policy at the University of Chicago's Harris School. MBA from UChicago, M.S. in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech, B.S. degrees in aerospace and electrical engineering from Purdue.

How I handle student data
- Every demo on this site runs on fictional or public data. No real student records appear anywhere.
- Public charts suppress small groups: figures are hidden wherever fewer than 30 students are behind them.
- Anything you upload to a demo stays private to your browser session and is deleted nightly.
- Client work happens under data-sharing agreements, with FERPA obligations written in — and your data is never used to train anyone's AI model.
Most projects start as a 30-minute conversation, with no sales pitch at the end of it.
